Meet the Team

At OAESH, we’re proud to serve Ottawa and the surrounding community as the city’s only 100% locally owned emergency and specialty animal hospital. Our team combines compassion, expertise, and advanced veterinary knowledge to provide care you can trust!

Dr Charles Boisclair
Dr Charles BoisclairVeterinary Oncologist
Dr. Boisclair graduated from the University of Montreal in 2016 and completed his residency at the University of Saskatchewan in 2021. He has been providing wonderful care for our cancer patients ever since! Outside of work, Dr Boisclair is passionate about music, the arts, environmental issues and hockey. Go Habs!
Dr Julie LeCavalier
Dr Julie LeCavalierInternal Medicine Specialist
Dr. Julie Lecavalier earned her DVM with honors from St. George’s in 2012. After years in general practice, she completed a residency at Centre DMVet and became an ACVIM Diplomate in 2022. She now works as an internist in Montreal, Blainville and here in Ottawa at OAESH. Julie brings a wealth of specialized expertise in internal medicine!
Dr Emilie Martinho
Dr Emilie MartinhoLead Emergency Veterinarian
Dr. Martinho is our lead emergency veterinarian! She studied at St. George’s University in Granada, with her final year at Cornell University. She has extensive experience in emergency medicine and surgery. When not at work she loves showing her horses at competitions and relaxing at home with her husband and her dogs Kate and Ellie.
Dr Aine Good
Dr Aine GoodVeterinarian
Dr. Aine Good qualified from UCD Dublin, Ireland in 2022. She worked in equine medicine for 2 years in Ireland and Kentucky before moving to Canada to work with small animals. Her major interests are ICU and caring for critical cases, but she also loves soft tissue surgery. She will often be found in the office with her trusty sidekick Copernicus the cat.
Dr Leslie Davenport
Dr Leslie DavenportVeterinarian
Dr. Leslie Davenport has over 30 years of clinical experience, with the past decade focused on emergency medicine and surgery. Now with the OAESH team, she is excited to collaborate with this dedicated group! Leslie loves paddling and running, and spending time with her husband Dave, her dog Wyatt and her orange tabby cat Relic.
Dr Romain Javard
Dr Romain JavardInternal Medicine Specialist
Dr. Romain Javard is a specialist in Internal Medicine and Cardiology. A 2011 graduate from Toulouse, he became an ACVIM Diplomate in 2015. He is an expert in minimally invasive procedures and feline nephrology. Now practicing at both Centre DMVet and OAESH, Romain is dedicated to providing advanced care and faster recovery times.
Dr Judy Chukwu
Dr Judy ChukwuVeterinarian
Dr. Judy Chukwu relocated to Canada from Nigeria, where she earned her DVM from Michael Okpara University. She has a great interest in emergency and intensive care, toxicology, soft tissue surgery, pain management, and diagnostic imaging. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Chukwu enjoys writing, drawing, and spending quality time with family and friends.
Dr Veronica Parsons
Dr Veronica ParsonsVeterinarian
Dr. Veronica Parsons graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2018 and completed a one-year rotating internship afterwards. She has worked in ER since. Her favourite part of the job is seeing patients improve and go home to their families. She likes to spend her spare time with her partner and her elderly dog Winston.
Dr Tara Betnaza
Dr Tara BetnazaVeterinarian
Dr. Betnaza graduated from the Atlantic College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005, and joined the OAESH emergency team in 2024. She is deeply committed to stray and displaced animals, having worked with the Ottawa Humane Society and volunteered for disaster relief abroad. She lives with her two children, two cats, and a rescued Saint Bernard.
Dr Jen Park
Dr Jen ParkVeterinarian
Dr. Jen Park graduated from St. George’s University in Granada in 2025, after having previously worked at the Ottawa Animal Emergency & Specialty Hospital as a veterinary assistant. She is keen to enter the world of emergency medicine. When not working, Dr Park enjoys relaxing with her dog Aloe Vera and her cat Chia Seed.
Dr Laura Hailey
Dr Laura HaileyVeterinarian
Dr. Laura Haley graduated from University College, Dublin in 2014, and has since worked in Wales, Ireland and Canada. Outside of work, she loves to spend quality time with her husband and son, her Australian Shepherd named Briar, and her cat Levi. When not at the clinic, she loves to hike and travel, works out, reads, and is a total podcast addict!
Dr Tamari Yu
Dr Tamari YuVeterinarian
Dr. Tamari Yu is originally from Hong Kong, where she worked as a nature conservation officer before doing her veterinary studies at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. She joined us here at OAESH in 2024. She is passionate about providing high-quality care to a diverse range of species, and has a special interest in treating exotic pets.
Dr Corina Orsini
Dr Corina OrsiniVeterinarian
Dr. Orsini graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2024. After earning her DVM, she completed an internship at the Veterinary Emergency Clinic in Toronto. Dr. Orsini recently moved to Ottawa with her partner, two dogs, and two cats. She enjoys going on outdoor adventures, and spending time with friends and family.
