Dog’s Hair Falling Out: River’s Story

After a trip down to Lake Eerie where River did a great deal of swimming, he developed lesions on his back which became quite large and painful. Soon, River’s hair began falling out as well. His family took him to their primary care veterinarian, but after treating him with creams for several weeks, River was only getting worse.

The veterinarian recommended they visit the specialty dermatologist at the Ottawa Animal Emergency and Specialty Hospital, where it was discovered that River had a serious infection.

With the specialty diagnosis, OAESH was able to prescribe a new treatment plan, and after a couple of months, River was on the road to a full recovery!
