Kitten Bites Down on Electrical Cord: Rex’s Survival Story

Emily and Mattew were busy getting ready to go to the cottage while Rex, a small kitten at the time, was playing with his sister Ellie, a 1-year-old Daschund. A short time later, Emily spotted Rex biting down on the cord to her hair-dryer. Although Emily quickly unplugged the device and pulled it out of Rex’s mouth, the damage had been done, and Rex collaped in Emily’s hands.

Emily was certain at first that he had died. When she realized she could still feel a faint heartbeat, she rushed Rex down to the Ottawa Animal Emergency & Specialty Hospital as quickly as she could. The veterinarians at OAESH were able to stabilize him and get him back to his old self again!
