Belle-Bulle’s Curious Case

Meet Belle-Bulle!

Belle-Bulle came to see us with signs of a urinary tract infection. X-rays were done to look for possible bladder stones, and boy were we in for a surprise!

Turns out her bladder was sitting outside her body wall in a fat pocket under the skin, and there was a strange mass in front of it! Surgery was performed, and as it turns out at some point the bladder had passed out through a hernia in the body wall and the hernia had healed, trapping the bladder outside her body. This had likely happened quite some time ago. There was also a strange mineralized mass sitting in front of it.

The mass was removed, the bladder put back where it belonged, and she is recovering well at home. Belle-Bulle is officially on the mend!
