Elbow Dislocation Injury: Oliver’s Story

By Ottawa Animal Emergency & Specialty Hospital

When Doreen arrived home from a hockey tournament one day, she was in for a surprise: her cat Oliver was waiting at the door, limping and in so much pain he cried out whenever anyone tried to pick him up.

Doreen called her primary care veterinarian hoping to find a place she could take Oliver after hours, and was referred to the Ottawa Animal Emergency and Specialty Hospital.

OAESH diagnosed Oliver with a dislocated elbow, an unusual injury for a cat, and he would need to be sedated for his procedure.

Doreen got the call a few hours later that all had gone well, and Oliver soon made a full recovery from his injury!
