will be joining OAESH as our interim specialist in Internal Medicine.

Dr Julie Lecavalier obtained her doctorate in veterinary medicine with honours magna cum laude from St. George’s University in 2012 after completing her clinical year at The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies at The University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom. She was inducted in the Phi Zeta Veterinary Honour Society in 2010. Prior to obtaining her doctorate, she completed a master’s degree in veterinary science after obtaining her bachelor’s degree in animal physiology from the University of Montreal.

She practiced as a small animal veterinarian in general practice in Montreal’s West Island for almost 6 years before starting a specialized internship in internal medicine at the Centre DMVet. She completed her internal medicine residency at the Centre DMVet and was recognised as a Diplomat of the ACVIM (American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine) in July 2022 and has been working as an internist since at the CentreDMVet in Montreal, Blainville and now in Ottawa at OAESH.
